This week is all about choosing an alternative way of eating and right now we are looking at the health benefits of choosing more fruit, and certain vegetables such as cucumbers and tomatoes, in your diet and exactly how their high water content will make you feel more hydrated than ever before. Okay, for those of us who only tend to eat fruit when it comes in a tin, perhaps it is time to make some changes? National Vegetarian week was originally started 24 years ago and has grown from strength to strength. You don't have to say goodbye to meat forever to appreciate exactly how healthy this lifestyle really is. Many of us simply do not take on enough fluids into our body and as a result we can suffer the side effects of dehydration. By adding something as simple as more fruits to our diet, it is possible to avoid these unpleasant symptoms altogether. When you also take into consideration that most fruits are packed with healthy vitamins and nutrients you will start to understand why this is such a no brainer. So let's look at one of the most delicious of all fruits for starters, the humble watermelon. These days you can find them in most supermarkets and the prices have certainly taken a tumble recently. Watermelons contain a whopping 92 percent of water and this ever so refreshing fruit is just as tasty as it is good for you. Our diet typically provides 20 percent of our water intake as far as food is concerned and by adding more water heavy fruits into your diet, you are slashing the odds of feeling dehydrated. You won't even have to worry too much about taking on extra drinks so long as your fruit diet starts to gather speed. Grapefruit and other melons are also water rich and can contain as much as 90 percent of the good stuff. Even the tasty apple is your watery friend because they tend to contain around 80 percent water on any given day. So maybe it is time to start rethinking your food diet because by increasing your water intake in such a fun and tasty way shouldn't really be such a hardship, should it? Water coolers and dispensers make drinking more water even easier, with chilled, filtered and great tasting water on tap! Instant boiling & chilled hot taps also dispense chilled water as well as hot for making hot drinks. National Vegetarian Week is a time when many of us reflect on what we are currently eating every day and it is a perfect time to start ringing in the changes.
