Each year on April 22nd, the entire world celebrates World Earth Day. This special event was first recognised in 1970 in Wisconsin and this year it is thought that more than 1 billion people will be taking part. Earth Day explained Although the theme is always based around how we can protect and sustain our planet, each year is focussed on a different aspect of care for the world. This year will be ‘It's our turn to lead' and it is hoped that the results from this iconic event will be a marked increase in proactive thinking with regards to saving the planet. Just think about how waste reduction and effective recycling practices can have such a positive effect on reducing global climate change and little by little, we can make a real difference. Doing your bit for Earth Day every day Rome certainly wasn't built in a single day but there are so many ways to reduce your carbon footprint that it shouldn't be an issue when looking for some start point. For example, look at the waste we create when using bottled water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Nobody would agree that cutting down on this vital mineral is a good idea but surely looking at alternative ways to remain hydrated is something that World Earth Day stands for. Look at having a plumbed in water cooler installed in your home or workplace and instantly the problem of plastic waste is removed from the whole equation. Boiling kettles throughout the day is another energy overuse that can help to build up the problematic carbon footprint we are all responsible. The simple yet incredibly effective instant boiling water taps are far more eco-friendly and also save on water bills, energy and are much more time efficient. Both of these appliances are surely the way forward when it comes to reducing carbon footprints. For example, those huge delivery trucks full of bottled eater could also be a thing of the past if we all make the move towards instant boiling water taps and water coolers. Why wait until the 22nd of April to start making your contribution to World Earth Day when you can make those vital changes now?
