World Water Day!

Every year on the 22nd March the world celebrates World Water Day. This day represents the importance of freshwater and developing the sustainable management of water resources throughout the world. Across the globe millions of people are forced to drink dirty water every day which results in diseases and death.

At the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment “World Water Day” was recommended and then officially started on the 22nd March 1993 by The United Nations. Today marks the 20th anniversary of a day which has brought change to so many lives.

The theme for World Water Day this year is “International Water Cooperation 2013”. There will be efforts from around the world from a wide range of people including actors to increase awareness on the potential that water cooperation can bring.

At Water Coolers Direct we work closely with many charities to provide free water and raise money to help some wonderful causes. To read more on the work we do please visit
