Nessie first shoots to fame in 1933 when a local couple called the Spicers spotted a large creature crossing the road in front of them along the loch side between Dores and Inverfarigaig. Reported in the Inverness Courier the story was taken up by the national press the next year the most famous photograph of Nessie was taken by surgeon R. K. Wilson and the Nessie Legend was born (d)
